Volunteer Opportunities with Youth at Christ the King
CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD
A children’s Liturgy of the Word is offered at most of our Sunday 9:00 a.m. Masses. Leaders are needed to serve on a rotating basis to proclaim the Word of God with young children and lead an interactive, age-appropriate homiletic reflection. Training and all materials are provided. See Liturgy of the Word for Children under Faith Formation for details.
FAMILY FORMATION SESSIONS
During the school year (October-May), students Kindergarten-5th grade meet most weeks on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 pm. A Family Formation model is used where parents and children actively participate in the sessions together. Some grade levels may have break-out sessions with a trained catechist (volunteer leader) depending on numbers in each grade. Lessons are rooted in tenants of the faith, social justice, the Liturgical Year and are developmental in nature.
Volunteers are needed as catechists and for occasional extra service or art projects. All materials and lesson plans are provided.
YOUTH MINISTRY SOCIAL EVENT CHAPERONE
Once a month, our youth ministry program offers a social event for teens (grades 6-12). Activities vary from corn mazes, snow tubing, water parks, and more. Whether the event is offsite or at our CTK campus, adult volunteers/chaperones are needed. Occasionally, we are also in need of adult volunteers to help with driving to and from locations.
