Eucharist

The Sunday celebration of the Eucharist is the “source and summit” for our lives as a Catholic Christian Church. Preparing children to come to the table of the Lord for the first time is a significant period in their lives and the life of the larger faith community. It is the celebration and the communal reception of Eucharist that unites us as People of God.

First Eucharist Prep - 2nd Grade and Older

The sacrament of first Eucharist is offered in the spring of the year to children in second grade and older, who are registered members of the parish. The preparation process is classroom/small group based and meets on Sunday mornings 10:00 to 11:00 am. Parents attend an information meeting as well as a family retreat.

Celebration of first Eucharist normally occurs on the first Sunday in May. Registration is ongoing and can be done by sending an email to Terri Hunt. Preparation follows the reception of the sacrament of Reconciliation. Please register for both sacraments in your child’s second grade year or older.

Note
The registration form for 2024-2025 is now available. It is our policy that your child needs to be registered and regularly attending faith formation programs or attending a Catholic school. Contact Terri Hunt with questions at thunt@ctkmpls.org
