Confirmation is the third sacrament of initiation as it helps to strengthen the faith begun at Baptism. This sacrament is another step in the life-long process of journeying with one another towards God. Through-out a 12 month discernment process, Candidates will explore the mission of Jesus, his life, and how they can bring his love to our community and the world as a whole. The sacrament of Confirmation is offered yearly to teens in 9th grade and above. The gifts of the Holy Spirit which you received at Baptism will be strengthened in you and you will be commissioned to live out your faith more intentionally in your family, school, community and world.
The program uses Decision Point by Matthew Kelly as our curriculum and meets bi-monthly starting in October of their 9th grade year. The program concludes in May with the sacramental celebration.Confirmation Candidates are also required to complete Service Experiences with the church and the greater community throughout the Confirmation process. Even though a certain number of hours are required, we hope that the students engage in different types of service activities: 1 on a parish level and 2 on a local level. More information on this will be discussed during the parent/candidate meeting held in September.
