Confirmation is a sacrament of initiation as it helps to strengthen the faith begun at Baptism. This sacrament is another step in the life-long process of journeying with one another toward God. Through an anointing with special oil (chrism) and a laying on of hands, the life of the Holy Spirit within us is strengthened.
The sacrament of Confirmation is offered to teens, who are registered members of the parish, in grade 9 or older. The program is peer-based discussion groups led by staff and volunteers.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is the process by which people become full members in the Roman Catholic Church. It is a process of formation which culminates in the reception of one (or more) of the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil.
