Eucharist

The celebration of the Eucharist is the "source and summit" for our lives as Christians. Eucharist is the sacrament that adds to the initiation process by welcoming the baptized to the Table of the Lord to receive Christ’s Body and Blood. In this sacrament we remember the action of Jesus at the Last Supper when he blessed and broke the bread and shared it with his disciples. The Eucharist is an act of thanksgiving which is celebrated in communion with one another, most often at the weekend liturgy. Christ the King celebrates Eucharist on Saturday at 4:30 pm, Sunday at 9:30 am.

First Eucharist Prep - 2nd Grade and Older

The sacrament of first Eucharist is offered in the spring of the year to children in second grade and older, who are registered members of the parish. The preparation program is family based with primary emphasis on parent / child projects in the home. Parents attend an information meeting as well as a family retreat.

Celebration of first Eucharist normally occurs on the first Sunday in May. Registration is ongoing and can be done by sending an email to Terri Hunt. Preparation follows the reception of the sacrament of Reconciliation. Please register for both sacraments in your child’s second grade year or older.

Note
The registration form for 2023-2024 is now available. It is our policy that your child needs to be registered and regularly attending faith formation programs or attending a Catholic school. Contact Terri Hunt with questions at thunt@ctkmpls.org
