Stewardship
Grateful for God's Gifts. Growing in Faith.
Building Our Parish Together.
Stewardship is our grateful response to God's gifts. It takes shape in the way we pray, participate in the life of our parish, and share what has been entrusted to us. You don't need to do everything. Choose one next step and begin there.
PRAY
Begin with time for God.
How can I grow closer to God?
Prayer is where stewardship begins. Making room for God helps us recognize His gifts, listen for His call, and respond with gratitude.
- Spend five minutes for prayer at the start or end of the day.
- Pray before meals.
- Participate in Sunday Mass and bring a particular intention.
- Spend time with Scripture through Lectio Divina.
- Consider returning to Reconciliation, or making it a regular part of your spiritual life.
Participate
Take your place in parish life.
How can I become more connected to Christ the King?
We grow in faith together. Worship, friendship, service, and participation connect us more deeply to Christ and to one another.
- Introduce yourself to someone you don't know at Mass.
- Join fellow parishioners at a parish gathering or event.
- Share your gifts through a ministry or service opportunity.
- Read The Table each week to stay connected and inspired.
- Review your Flocknote groups and communication preferences.
The Table is our weekly parish email, sent through Flocknote. Flocknote also makes it easier to stay connected with the groups, and opportunities that interest you.
Give
Practice generosity intentionally.
How can I grow in generosity?
Giving is one way we share what we have received. Generosity changes us. When we give from gratitude, we grow in trust, freedom, and concern for others. Jesus reminds us, "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:21).
Stewardship giving should be prayerful, planned, proportionate, and sacrificial.
- Choose a manageable amount to give each week or month.
- If you already give consistently, prayerfully consider increasing your gift.
- Create a plan that supports your parish, people in need, and charitable causes that matter to you.
- Revisit your plan over time as your circumstances change.
What does Sunday Giving Support?
Sunday Giving sustains the ongoing life and mission of Christ the King, including worship, formation, outreach, staffing and the daily operations that bring Christ’s love to our community and beyond. Regular gifts make this work possible.
Different Invitations, Different Purposes
As Catholics, we belong to a parish, an archdiocese, and the universal Church.
Though different in size and scope, they share one mission: to make Christ known and loved.
We support that mission in different ways: through the work and service here at Christ the King, the life of our local Church throughout our Archdiocese, and the missionary work of the Church around the world.
The Church calls the faithful to support its needs according to their means and to assist people in need from their resources. Each invitation has its own purpose. You can consider them thoughtfully over time; you do not have to respond to every one in the same way.
A Practical Guide
Some Catholics use 10% of their income as a personal guide, though every household's circumstances are different.
One common approach is:
- 5% to your parish
- 2–3% to people in need
- 2–3% to other charitable causes
This is an optional framework, not a Church requirement.
Begin where you are and grow over time.
RESPOND
Take One Next Step
Stewardship looks different for every person and family. You don't need to do everything at once. Stewardship begins with one faithful response to God's gifts. We invite you to prayerfully consider your next step and share your response with us.
Thank You
Thank you for your generosity and support of the Church of Christ the King. Your financial gifts support the life of our parish, including vibrant worship, the formation of disciples, works of charity, and opportunities for people to encounter Jesus and experience His love in our parish and community.
