"Sacraments are 'powers that come forth' from the Body of Christ, which is ever-living and life-giving."

Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1116

Sacraments are how Catholics experience God’s grace in a visible, tangible way. Through them, we encounter Christ at key moments in life—welcoming new life, receiving forgiveness, being strengthened in illness, and committing ourselves in love and service.

The Church celebrates seven sacraments, grouped into three categories:

  • Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation
  • Sacraments of Healing: Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick
  • Sacraments of Vocation: Marriage, Holy Orders
