Dear Friend of Christ the King,
You did it – thank you!
With your help, Christ the King Church retired our $260,000 mortgage. You also ensured that this financial year finished in the black.
In addition to your monetary support, you continue to make CTK a vital force in both the lives of your fellow parishioners and the community at large. You connect with friends and welcome new ones. You celebrate baptisms, First Sacraments, marriages, funerals, and other milestones. You socialize at events like Oktoberfest and challenge yourself with programs such as Easy Chairs and Tough Topics. With your help, CTK is recognized as a great source of volunteers for efforts such as Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels.
And what does our future look like? We are hard at work developing the next generation of leaders to guide our faith community. We initiated Vacation Bible School for our youngest parishioners. We began a Sunday night youth mass and introduced Ignite, a program for middle school and high school students to talk about faith, sing worship music, and pray. This summer, we participated in Youth in Theology and Ministry, a 2-week summer institute at St. John's University to expose high school students to college-level theology classes.
The spirit of Christ the King is alive and thriving. But we need your continued financial support to ensure that our faith continues to grow and is a strong presence in our community.
We are asking each parishioner to increase their financial commitment to the parish in 2019.
While we were able to balance our budget this year, we also delayed some expenses and staff hires that are necessary to deliver the services our community needs. Please prayerfully consider what you can do to make sure the terrific 80 year legacy of Christ the King continues.
Our Stewardship goal for 2019 is $1,100,000. Please take time to fill out the enclosed pledge form and return it in the mail or drop it off in the collection basket. Thank you for making Christ the King a wonderful home for so many!
